What kinda camcorder should I get that is HQ but, cost effective?

I want to make some really nice family videos but,I can’t keep using a digital camera. What Camcorder to you suggest I buy that has high quality and doesn’t cost to much.I want to make documentary type videos so what should I do?

If you are accustomed to the quality of video fro your digital still photo camera but want to take the next step into HD? You can get an Aiptek HD or HD+ camera for around $150 on Amazon.

If you want even better quality, you can spend 2-3 times the money and get a more common and better quality HDV system. HDV is already designed to work with your existing computer and editing sytem. Plus, you can use and store cheap miniDV tape until you need to edit.
